1. Welcome to Trinity!

    Here at Sheffield Girls' we celebrated our 140th year in 2018 and as part of the celebrations, we welcomed Olympic silver medallist Bryony Page to officially open our new gym and the Trinity building. Located in a former chapel and Grade 2 listed building facing Newbould Lane which became part of the school campus in 1970, the gym has recently undergone a £2.5 million refurbishment.

  2. Warning! This Day will be Good for your Health

    On Thursday 21 June, a whole day entitled: Warning! This Day will be Good for your Health,  was in the calendar for all 90 girls in Year 10 to spend the day talking about the importance of mental and physical health and well-being, as we concentrate on techniques to keep our minds, bodies and spirits healthy.

  3. Fascinating Ferns

    All of Year 5's questions and more were answered by Mr Shaw, Head of Biology in our Senior School, when he visited Year 5 this week to talk about his favourite subject: ferns.

  4. The Land Economy Essay Competition

    Year 12 student Megan Hornsby has won first prize in the Land Economy essay competition run by Fitzwilliam College (University of Cambridge). She will be collecting her £200 prize at their open day on Thursday 6th July. This is a fantastic achievement and Megan is understandably delighted!

  5. Junior Charity Afternoon

    There was a definite air of excitement in the Infant and Junior schools last Friday, as the girls eagerly awaited our annual Charity Afternoon. This year we were raising money for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

  6. Lifetime Achievement Award for Mrs Dunsford

    We are delighted to share some exciting news today that our Head, Mrs Valerie Dunsford, has been rewarded for her devotion to the teaching profession over almost four decades by being awarded a Silver Teaching Award in the Lifetime Achievement category of this year’s Pearson Teaching Awards.

  7. Insight Into Teaching 2018

    Sheffield Girls’ is holding its Insight Into Teaching initiative for five days next week to allow 13 would-be teachers to immerse themselves in school life.

  8. Best Year 12 Young Enterprise team in Yorkshire!

    Following on from their initial success in the Young Enterprise Competition in March, and then again in May, our Year 12 Young Enterprise team then went forward to the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Finals on 13 June, where they came away as Yorkshire & Humber regional winners and were crowned best Young Enterprise team in Yorkshire!

  9. Year 6 Inter-House Rounders

    On a beautiful sunny afternoon all of the Year 6 girls took part in the annual inter-house rounders event.  It was a closely fought battle between the houses, the standard of fielding, batting and bowling was amazing and the team work, determination and resilience to make every ball count was fantastic.

  10. D of E Going for Gold at Buckingham Palace

    In the week when London was awash with ‘Royal Fever’ as royal wedding preparations were underway, seventeen of our current and former students were invited to Buckingham Palace to be presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.
