Professor Elizabeth Smart

Professor Elizabeth Smart is Professor of Legal Education and Head of Law at Sheffield Hallam University. She originally qualified as a Personal Injury and Civil Litigation solicitor before becoming a Crown Prosecutor. She has also worked in the School of Law at the University of Sheffield and was the Dean of BPP Law School, Leeds.

Liz’s daughter, Bethany attended Sheffield Girls’. Bethany left after completing her A-levels in 2016. She graduated from the University of Sheffield with an upper second in Law and has obtained a training contract with DLA Piper to qualify as a solicitor.

Liz was keen to join the School Governing Board to help, support and guide future students in their chosen career and to support the school strategically.
