Year 7 Residential: Team building in the Peak District
On Monday 7th October, Year 7, along with a team of form tutors and staff, embarked on a two-day adventure to the Hollowford Centre near Castleton. The girls went took part in a number of activities designed to build confidence and encourage team building to help everyone get to know each other during their first term of secondary education at our Senior School.
The Hollowford Centre offers a fantastic variety of activities including weaselling, high and low ropes, climbing, rafting and orienteering. The girls got stuck in with all the activities and showcased incredible courage and teamwork.
Mrs Heery, Head of Year 7 said, ‘It was a great couple of days and despite not being able to see anything from the top of Higger Tor, the girls did not let the weather dampen their enthusiasm in the slightest! The range of activities were challenging but they tackled them head on and got to know each other in the process.’
The trip was a great success with new friendships being formed and some new skills learnt meaning the girls are raring to continue their studies with a boost of confidence!
