Sheffield Girls’ Melbournians Achieve Fantastic A Level Results
Our Melbournians have achieved outstanding success in their A Level results this year. These 18 students, who have been with us since Reception, are delighted with their results and our community is incredibly proud of their achievements. 67% of Melbournians’ results were awarded A*-A, compared to a national average of 28%, and four students achieved three A*s.
Melbournian Isobel, who will be going to Durham to study Modern European Languages, achieved three A*s. This morning she reflected on her 14 years at Sheffield Girls’: “the school has prepared me incredibly well…there are so many skills that I don't think I would have even thought to have worked on if it hadn't been for all the teachers. For example communication, and confidence and believing in yourself, because I've always struggled with that, and my teachers have instilled so much confidence in me.”
Khushi, who also achieved 3 A*s, will be studying Medicine at the University of Leeds. She commented on studying in such a supportive environment where girls feel empowered to make mistakes: “This is an environment where girls flourish. We are always motivated and encouraged to try again if we don’t do as well as we wanted the first time. There's always someone to support you and to believe in you.”
Our Infant and Junior School, which focuses on providing an outstanding platform for transition to the Senior School, sees girls develop an inherent sense of intellectual curiosity from the moment they join us in Reception. This natural love of learning is cultivated throughout their time at Sheffield Girls’, and we are so proud to see this reflected in a fantastic set of results for our Melbournians this year. Wishing them all the best as they pursue an exciting range of university degrees.
