Sheffield Girls’ Junior School STEM Lead nominated for Primary Science National Teacher Award

We are delighted that Lucy Williams, Infant and Junior School STEM Lead, has been nominated for the Primary Science National Teacher Award.

The award recognises innovative and creative teaching in Science, the ability to inspire colleagues to develop science education in the school and beyond in addition to exciting pupils throughout their Science curriculum. Lucy said, ‘It’s a huge privilege to be shortlisted for a national award’.

Over the past year Lucy has developed and delivered initiatives including ‘The Great Science Share’, an event which connected schools from across the GDST through Science experiments, and the Infant and Junior School Science Week, featuring a pupil led Science Fair which empowered pupils to lead their own experiments and demonstrations for their peers and family members.

We wish Lucy the best of luck at the Primary Science Teaching Trust Awards and look forward to future innovations in the Science curriculum at Sheffield Girls’.
