Sheffield Girls' hosts its 10th Annual Golf Day
On Friday the 19th of May, Sheffield Girls’ hosted its 10th Annual tee-rific Golf Day. This highly enjoyable event united 16 teams of parents, students, friends and family within the Sheffield Girls’ community, to come together in support of the Bursary Fund.
The event was best by par, thanks in part to generous sponsorship from My Fathers Heart. This wonderful Sheffield based company, has more than 100 years' experience furnishing some of the most prestigious homes in the UK. Providing the event with the winning prize and being the overall main sponsor, we are grateful to My Fathers Heart for their ongoing support.
Kicking off the afternoon with a putting competition in which our Year 10 pupils assisted with, sunny skies and tasty hot sandwiches, Sheffield Girls’ golf tournament was lively from the first hole in one. Our 16 teams then navigated their way through the beautiful course at the Hallamshire Golf Club, and in the evening a delicious buffet, prize giving and thanks were shared in great company.
A massive congratulations to the overall winning team ‘ACTors’. Their team captain, Steve Green, a parent of a former Sheffield Girls’ pupil and an important part of our school community, led the team to victory with his Tiger Woods style techniques.
Rosslyn Owen, our Head of External Relations said: ‘This was my first Golf Day and it was brilliant to see it in action. The Golf Day is a brilliant way to bring together current and former parents and their wider networks, all in support of the Sheffield Girls’ Bursary Fund. The weather was glorious, the greens were fast and the food was delicious - the perfect combination for a fun and friendly afternoon of golf’
Sheffield Girls’ Golf Day was a thrilling and rewarding experience to be a part of for all. A special thanks goes to Indy Singh, who helped to organise the day alongside Rosslyn and Ophelia, his expertise and support was invaluable to the success of the day.
