Sheffield Girls' celebrates A-Level Results Day
We’re in high spirits today at Sheffield Girls’ after our fantastic A-Level students achieved 95% A*-C with 61% of all grades A*- A.
Our students have shown resilience and determination during the last two years of dedicated study and it has truly paid off. With offers from UCL, Oxford, King's College London, Edinburgh, Durham, Cambridge, York, Loughborough, and Lincoln to name a few, the girls have seen their incredible dedication and hard work rewarded.
Head, Nina Gunson said: “We have had the most wonderful morning celebrating with our students, their parents and their teachers. Our students have worked so incredibly hard but it is always nerve wracking when this day finally arrives. All their efforts have most certainly been rewarded with such a stunning set of results and it was such a privilege to share the joy with them this morning.”
Approximately 73,000 fewer A* and A grades have been awarded this year nationally compared with 2022, following ministers’ pledge to return the education system to normal after the pandemic, so the whole school community was delighted to see our students buck the trend with 95% of grades awarded at A* - C, compared with 75% nationally.
