Prize Giving 2017 - A Celebration of Success!
On Thursday 14 September, the school, parents, teachers and governing body came together at the Octagon for Prize Giving, our annual celebration of academic and co-curricular achievements, GSCE and A Level results.
After a report on the past year’s achievements by Mrs Dunsford, the girls headed onto the stage to pick up their GCSE and A level certificates, and a wealth of prizes and scholarships were awarded to the girls for academic achievements, progress and endeavour in many subjects throughout the year.
We were also delighted to welcome our very inspiring speaker, entrepreneur and Sheffield Girls’ alumna Bonnie Chung, founder and managing director of Miso Tasty, a very successful Japanese food business.
A review of co-curricular achievements followed, with music provided by the school’s singing ensembles, displays of linguistic ability, gymnastics, badminton, and a taste of the various clubs and enrichment activities on offer at Sheffield Girls’.
Finally a vote of thanks from Head Girl, Eva Koffi, to our pupils and staff, parents and friends, the board of governors and our special guests Bonnie Chung, the Master and Mistress Cutler, and the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor, Anne Murphy and her consort marked the end of a very enjoyable evening.
