Google Expeditions gives Years 4 -13 an out of this world experience!
Nearly 350 students across Years 4 - Year 10 got the chance to go on a school trip without leaving the school site on Friday 17 March. Among the places visited were: the solar system, underwater eco-systems, steam railways, the reproductive system and Roman ruins.
The ‘trips’ were delivered by our teaching staff but using Google’s Virtual Reality service, Google Expeditions. Students were given a pair of Google ‘cardboard’ goggles which allow the trip destinations to be viewed in 3D.
Expedition leaders could interact with the goggles by controlling what the students could see, highlight points of interest and start debate on what they had seen and learned. The expeditions were a great success with one student saying that their trip “was simply amazing!”
