Go4SET project My School is an Island is Best Overall!
On Tuesday 6 June, two teams of Year 9 students competed in the annual Go4Set competition at Sheffield Hallam University. The Year 9s have been working on their projects for the last three months with engineers from Arup as industrial mentors.
Both teams have been working on projects entitled ‘My School is an Island’, where they had to imagine their school was relocated to an island, then design not only the building, but how the school would be supplied with energy, clean water and food.
Both teams worked incredibly hard and produced reports, models and presentations of exceptionally high standard; the judges were very impressed. However, it was team Lablar, made up of Lucy Polovina, Alisha Karim, Bridget Bedford, Leah Young, Anna Mills and Ruby Blackburn who took the Best Overall Project trophy.
