Digital leaders are Sharing Smiles to make the Internet a Safer Place on Safer Internet Day
Tuesday 7th February was UK Safer Internet Day! To promote this day and encourage the safe and responsible use of technology, our Year 12 Digital Leaders Nayana Dasgupta, Sadaf Hamid and Kitty Yuen, organised games and activities for students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
The theme of the day was “Be the change: unite for a better internet” and the focus was upon the power and influence of images on the internet.
The students had great fun designing their own emojis to promote positive messages, taking part in a quiz on the safe use of images and playing a ‘guess the emoji’ team game. We got involved in the Safer Internet Day #giveasmile campaign by tweeting using the hashtag #SID2017 to share our smiling emojis on on social media, and sharing positive messages.
Year 7 and Year 9 have also been doing a carousel of activities in PSHE lessons – focusing on online relationships, privacy and security and digital footprint. Here’s one thing they tried that you can try too:
