Dance Masterclasses are on topic!
The Infant and Junior Schools have danced their way through the Autumn and Spring terms, as specialist dance teachers from the Constance Grant Dance Centre have been working with the girls in workshops linked to their studies.
Year 4 focused on different countries in their workshop in November, and at Christmas, Year 3 took part in a Christmas Dance Masterclass, working in teams to create a festive dance on the theme of Christmas baubles and puddings. They star jumped, clapped, sparkled and shone!
In the spring term, Year 2 became flames in their Fire dance, to portray the Great Fire of London, to tie in with their History topic work. Year 1 created a wonderful Scottish dance to the music from Katie Morag, and Reception learned a Space Boogie dance! Their topic this term is all based around space, and to link in with our creative curriculum, the girls were divided into two teams, rockets and planets; they whirled themselves around the Solar System, became aliens and eventually landed back onto Earth with a bump. Wow! What an adventure!
The girls thought it was a great way to learn their topics. ‘I really liked being a flame!’ said Trinity, Year 2.
