A magical day packed full of spellbinding fun for World Book Day 2020!

Pupils at Sheffield Girls’ enjoyed a truly marvellous day in celebration of World Book Day 2020. Girls in the Infant and Junior Schools had a rather dramatic start to the day as they discovered Head, Mr. Hald was ‘missing’! They worked collaboratively to investigate who might have taken Mr Hald and how they could get him back. Their activities included interactive story writing, potion making in the mud kitchen, designing wanted posters, and spell writing. At the end of the day, they worked together to solve the final puzzle and chant a special spell that brought Mr Hald back!

The fun didn’t stop at the Infant and Junior School as Senior School pupils got to take part in a murder mystery event in the library. The girls put their Detective hats on at lunchtime as they worked to solve the murder of Captain Hook! They listened to and analysed statements from four key suspects; Moriarty, Queen of Hearts, Mrs Coulter and Lord Voldemort. The girls were busy identifying holes in each of their stories and eventually revealed the culprit to be… MRS COULTER!

A huge thank you to our fantastic team of staff who organised an utterly magical day!
