A Close Finish in the Inter-House Swimming Gala
Girls from Year 3-9 headed over to Heeley Pool for the Inter-House Swimming Gala on 14 May, swimming in a variety of races from breaststroke to backstroke and including butterfly for the senior girls. As well as showing great determination in their individual swims, the girls demonstrated teamwork and resilience in the the relays too.
All the houses were well represented by some seasoned experienced swimmers and those who had never competed at a gala before. The atmosphere was fantastic and every girl was cheered on by her teammates.
In a closely fought contest between the houses, Emeralds were crowned Junior School Champions and the Senior School Champions were Shirreff. It was a draw in first place between Emeralds/Gurney and Sapphires/Shirreff, but judged on the most races won and cannon relay champions, overall winners were Emeralds/Gurney. Congratulations to every swimmer who took part!
