1. A-level results 2017

    Sheffield Girls' celebrates with 76% of A-Level entries graded A*-B. The percentage of entries awarded grades A*-C was an amazing 91% and a quarter of the 95 girls who sat A-Levels this year achieved straight A*/A results.

  2. Stars and Spins for Lucy

    Lucy Bland from Fulwood, is in a spin after receiving straight A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths in her A-Level results. Lucy is going on to study Medicine at University College Oxford.

  3. Teya overcomes health condition to achieve straight A*/As

    Teya Staniforth from Ashover in Derbyshire, is celebrating after receiving A*A*A promising her a place at Durham University to study BioSciences.

  4. Junior and Infant International Culture Day

    On Thursday 8 June the infant girls headed up to Ashdell, and their junior girls joined us in Melbourne House for a day of exciting activities to celebrate our International Culture Day.

  5. Sheffield Girls’ Annual Golf Day

    Our fourth Sheffield Girls’ Annual Golf Day was, once again, a wonderful day out at one of our region’s finest golf courses, the Hallamshire. Teams from both Sheffield Girls’ and Ashdell Prep School took part this year – in all, 84 golfers representing 21 teams made up of parents, alumni, friends of the school and local businesses.

  6. A double win in the Routes To Languages Modern Languages Translation Bee

    Tuesday 6 June saw two of our Year 8 students, Nawar Hussain and Ashwini Garneti, win the regional heats of the Modern Languages Translation Bee competition, Nawar in French and Ashwini in Spanish. Mara Sergienko in Year 8 competed for German and also did very well indeed.

  7. Go4SET project My School is an Island is Best Overall!

    On Tuesday 6 June, two teams of Year 9 students competed in the annual Go4Set competition at Sheffield Hallam University. The Year 9s have been working on their projects for the last three months with engineers from Arup as industrial mentors.

  8. Sheffield Girls' and Birkdale Joint Sixth Form Choir performance is Poetry in Motion

    On Monday this week we hosted our joint Sheffield Girls' and Birkdale Sixth Form choral and orchestral concert, their last concert for a while! The theme of the evening was scientific, involving formulae such as force = mass x acceleration and weight = mass x gravitational field strength (thanks to Dr Dinsdale!).

  9. Year 13 Leavers Evening Dinner

    On Wednesday the Sports Hall was transformed with flowers, balloons and dining tables for our Year13 Leavers’ Evening where the girls, their parents and teachers came together to celebrate the partnership between school and home, as the girls reach the end of their time in school.

  10. A Bumper Turnout for the Junior School Gardening Club

    We had a bumper turnout of enthusiastic volunteers for our first ever gardening event on Wednesday 10 May. The sun shone on the workers as they weeded, pruned, planted and watered the school gardens. A huge thank you to everyone who came and helped to make our school look its best. It was great fun!
